Carbon Emissions and Climate Goals

Haleon builds its strategy on two ideas. It cares about daily health and the planet. The company sets clear targets. It aims for net zero carbon emissions through the entire value chain by 2040. It targets zero net Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. It plans a 42% cut in Scope 3 emissions by 2030. These goals use data from 2022. The company works by electrifying heat production. It shifts to cleaner fuels. It invests in renewable electricity. It uses carbon offsets to manage extra emissions.

Decarbonising the Healthcare Supply Chain

Haleon works closely with suppliers. It helps them adopt renewable energy and greener operations. This work also shapes product design. The goal is to use materials and packaging that hurt the planet less.

Key efforts include:
• Switching to renewable electricity with onsite power or new buys.
• Motivating suppliers to act sustainably and to lower Scope 3 emissions.
• Designing products and packaging that lessen environmental harm.

Advancing Recycle-Ready Packaging

Haleon sets clear targets to lower plastic waste and boost recyclability. The company plans to reduce virgin petroleum-based plastic use by 10% by 2025 and by 33% by 2030 (using 2022 as a baseline). It makes packaging compact and efficient. It moves from virgin plastics to recycled plastics and bio-resins. All packaging must be recycle-ready by 2025 and fully recyclable or reusable by 2030. Haleon phases out plastics like PVC. It shifts to packaging with one type of material. This design fits today’s recycling systems. Nearly half of its packaging will be paper-based by 2030. That paper will come from recycled or certified sustainable sources that avoid deforestation.
