Bigger Focus on Sustainable Products at Metstrade 2025

Metstrade 2025 runs from November 18–20 at the RAI Amsterdam. It is the largest show ever and brings almost 1,700 exhibitors. Here, innovation and new ideas meet. Sustainability leads in all 13 halls, and the leisure marine field shows it cares for the planet.

Sustainability Across the Board

This year, Metstrade shows many marine products that use eco-friendly ideas. Products here cover:

• Boat building materials and coatings
• Propulsion and engine systems
• Electronics and rigging
• Maintenance products and fuel systems
• Life-saving gear and marina fixes

The main trends are clear. Innovation and sustainable ideas drive the event. Energy-saving tips and cleaner fuels are in focus.

Dedicated Zones and Programs

• The Foiling Technology Zone shows foiling ideas from racing. These ideas now help recreational boat use and save fuel. Even superyachts can benefit.

• The Next Gen Zone (Hall 13) brings leading companies. They work on real solutions for our world. Key parts include:

– The Sustainable Innovation Hub. This hub is a joint effort by World Sailing and The Sustainability Toolbox. They repurpose waste, design in circles, and offer free education.

– Royal 3D works with advanced 3D printers. They print with recycled plastics and reclaimed wood. Their work wins awards like the eco-conscious DAME Design trophy.

– The Next Generation Propulsion Showcase, in joint work with the International Electric Maritime Association (IEMA), lets you see engines that run on electric, hybrid power, alternative fuel, and zero emissions.

Industry Thought Leadership

IEMA leads two panels. One talks about data-led growth. The other discusses how less noise and vibration give comfort and reduce fatigue on boats.

Superyacht Sustainability Route

Now in its fourth run, this route works with the Water Revolution Foundation. Here, superyacht products pass Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs). These products are chosen for their efficient, low-impact, and fair designs. They work to cut waste during the yacht’s life.

Marine Impact Lab Workshop

On November 17, the Marine Impact Lab holds a workshop. Leaders and innovators come together to boost sustainable ways. With support from key partners, sessions focus on circular materials, green design, and whether working together or competing brings more ideas. Speakers include experts from BAR Technologies, Northern Lights Composites, Kairos, and Holy Technologies.

Metstrade’s Commitment to Sustainability

Metstrade leads by example. It cuts single-use plastics and minimizes food waste. It builds eco-friendly stands. It even offers the “Metstrain”—a Eurostar carriage for greener travel between London and Amsterdam.

About Metstrade

Metstrade is the top event for the leisure marine industry. It builds key links, shares knowledge, and grows business across all parts—from superyachts to daily marine tools.
