Coop Partners with Start-Ups to Develop Sustainable Food Products
Coop, a Swiss retailer, works with start-ups. It builds eco-friendly food products. It tests chocolate from lab-grown cocoa and meat from mushrooms. Each word links closely to its neighbor to keep ideas clear.
Key Partnerships and Innovations
- Coop works with Kokomodo, an Israeli start-up. Kokomodo grows cocoa in labs. This work cuts harms from old cocoa farms.
- Coop also teams with Pacifico Biolabs, a German firm. Pacifico builds meat substitutes from mushrooms. This work gives protein that is kind to nature.
These projects run via Kickstart Innovation. Kickstart is an open idea platform that today turns 10. Since 2015, it has made over 400 deals and sent more than CHF 3.1 billion into new projects. Coop met Planted—a meat substitute partner—through this path.
Commitment to Sustainability
Coop joins with start-ups to serve green food to buyers. It invests in lab-grown and plant-based products. This step cuts carbon footprints. It meets the call for products that care for the earth.
