BSR Laboratory Secures ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Certification, Strengthening Quality Control for Green and Sustainable Products
In November 2025, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company took a clear step. Its BSR Laboratory earned the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certificate from Vietnam’s National Accreditation Bureau. The bureau issued the code VILAS 456, and the certificate lasts until 2030. This certificate shows the lab can test and calibrate with skill. It also proves the lab sticks to quality management and produces sound analytical results.
Expanding Scope to Support Sustainable Fuel Development
The lab first earned accreditation in 2010. Since then, it has grown its work. Today, the BSR Laboratory runs 67 tests on petroleum products. It tests gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, LPG, and crude oil. The lab now also tests green fuels. It checks polypropylene (PP) resin, E10 gasoline, B5 and B10 biodiesel, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. These green fuels help Vietnam cut its emissions. This certificate links with the Government’s plan to use more biofuels and SAF. BSR now tests key fuel factors. The lab checks chemical makeup, stability, impurities, and safety at its Dung Quat Refinery.
Benefits and Commitment to Excellence
Mr. Pham Cong Nguyen leads the Safety and Quality Division. He says the new certificate boosts the lab’s test quality for biofuels and SAF. The lab now meets national plans, cuts costs from outside labs, and builds trust. The certificate links BSR to global markets. It also helps the company grow its exports and find new technical partners.
BSR keeps its high standards with strict routines. The lab runs many trainings and skill tests. In 2025, it completed over 1,100 skill tests and held more than 100 training sessions. The lab also inspected its equipment over 8,000 times in 2025. It joined many national and international proficiency tests. It compared its work with other labs. These steps hold the lab to high compliance and prepare it for new challenges.
Implications for Vietnam’s Green Energy Future
BSR’s testing skills build a base for quality control in Vietnam’s greener fuel future. The lab helps make sure fuels for transport and aviation meet strict rules. It supports regulatory demands and builds industry trust. In this way, it contributes to Vietnam’s environmental goals and net-zero plans.
