Greiner Packaging CEO on Circularity, Partnerships & Sustainable Profitability

Date: January 22, 2026
By: Natalie Schwertheim

Embracing Circular Economy as a Strategic Advantage

Beatrix Praeceptor now leads Greiner Packaging. She has held the CEO role since May 2023. She shifts circular economy ideas from a rule to a strength. Greiner Packaging uses the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” idea:

  • Reduce: Greiner cuts extra packaging and lessens virgin plastics by adding recycled content.
  • Reuse: The company offers bottles, cups, and meal boxes that please customers and fight single-use waste.
  • Recycle: Greiner builds packaging that can be recycled. They make cups like the K3 r100 and use washable inks.

These actions ready Greiner and its clients for strict EU packaging rules. They work to make packaging that lasts and meets new regulations.

Strategic Priorities for Growth and Sustainability

When Praeceptor became CEO, she set clear goals. She wanted faster green product development. She aimed at a strong team change. She planned to boost global strength.

In 2023, the plan grew and shifted. Greiner now:
• Fits its recycling plan to EU rules.
• Cuts steps in its work process.
• Grows in North America with strong results.
• Finds cost fixes that meet Europe’s price sensitivity.

Customer Partnerships Fueling Innovation

Praeceptor shows that close work with customers sparks new ideas. Some examples follow:

  • air up: They fixed a drinking straw and closure to hold up well. They made products in Austria. This cut supply chain emissions. The team also used recycled cardboard and color masterbatch to replace old lacquers.

  • Henkel: They built toilet-rim cages with 30% post-consumer recycled material. They mixed this with 70% renewable polypropylene to boost use and green impact.

  • Orthomol: They set up a new production line. The line uses up to 30% recycled PET in bottles. It still meets hygiene and quality needs.

  • Swiss Initiatives: At Diepoldsau, Greiner began to make K3 cups from recycled polystyrene. They worked locally with ELSA and Emmi to cut CO2 emissions.

Digitalization and Efficiency Boost Profitability

Greiner now uses digital tools and automation. These steps cut waste and lift efficiency. Digital work helps them grow and stay green.

Conclusion

Greiner Packaging shows how circular economy ideas can lift business growth. They spark innovation and meet tough environmental rules. Greiner mixes sustainable materials, builds strong customer ties, and adapts to rules early. In this way, the company leads with future-safe packaging.
