OEKO-TEX® Partners with TextileGenesis to Digitize Traceability for Organic Cotton
Rising Demand for Verified Organic Cotton Supply Chains
Global markets seek eco-friendly textiles. Demand grows, and so does the need for clear organic cotton checks. OEKO-TEX® organic cotton certification jumped by 381% by the end of 2025. ## Addressing Fraud and Efficiency via Digital Innovation
OEKO-TEX® fights fraud and builds trust. They chose TextileGenesis—a Lectra company—to digitize key Transaction Certificates. These certificates track each move of organic cotton. This plan binds OEKO-TEX®’s trusted methods with TextileGenesis’ smart digital platform. In this system, physical shipments link directly to unique digital tokens through Fibercoin™.
Fibercoin™ Technology Enables Tamper-Resistant Supply Chain Transparency
Each organic cotton batch earns a secure digital token. The token tracks cotton from raw fiber through the finished product. It eases admin tasks for mills and brands. This new loop replaces many paper records with one clear digital chain.
Pilot Success and Industry Validation Across India and Bangladesh
From March to August 2025, 11 supply chain players took part. Ginners, spinners, and mills joined the test. The pilot produced 24 certificates from 19 complete transactions. Feedback was strong. Trust and compliance grew across the chain.
Strategic Milestone in OEKO-TEX®’s Digital Roadmap
Dr. Alfred J. Beerli, CEO of OEKO-TEX®, says this move is a key start. It paves the way for more digital checks across products and standards. The approach stands with OEKO-TEX®’s aim for secure, open, and scalable certification.
