Organic Style Ltd. Acquires Coyuchi, Inc., Expanding Eco-Luxury Bed & Bath Market

San Rafael, CA – April 28, 2008 – Organic Style Ltd. grows fast. It is an eco-luxury online retailer. The company acquires Coyuchi, Inc. Coyuchi makes premium organic and Fair Trade cotton bed and bath products. Christine Nielson founded Coyuchi in 1991. She led the way to market fine organic cotton bedding in the United States.

Coyuchi’s Legacy and Sustainable Impact

Coyuchi has a strong past. It offers Certified Organic and Fair Trade bed linens, blankets, towels, robes, sleepwear, baby clothing, and home accessories. Retailers form small networks for Coyuchi. Over 300 specialty outlets, spas, and boutique hotels, like Hana Maui Hotel and Post Ranch Inn, carry their products. In 2008, Coyuchi made a bold choice. It now gets all its cotton from the Chetna Organic Growers Association. This group in India helps nearly 6,000 farmers. It gives fair prices and upholds strict social rules. It also ends child labor in these communities.

Strategic Expansion by Organic Style Ltd.

Organic Style Ltd. is led by Gerald Prolman. He is an organic entrepreneur with many ideas. Gerald started Organic Bouquet. This business led the organic fresh flower trend in a $21 billion US market. In November 2007, he launched OrganicStyle.com, an eco-luxury online shop. He revived Organic Style Magazine in January 2008. These moves set a strong base for the acquisition. Gerald says, “We believe in Coyuchi’s mission. Their work helps cotton farmers in India. This is our first acquisition in the eco-luxury sector.”

Market Growth and Industry Trends

The 2007 Organic Exchange Organic Cotton Report shows strong growth. Global organic cotton retail reached $1.1 billion in 2006. It was set to grow to $6.8 billion by 2010. The growth rate was more than 550%. This deal puts Organic Style Ltd. in a smart spot. It can meet the growing demand for eco-friendly, luxury textile products.
