DERTOUR Launches “engage – people & planet” Label to Highlight Sustainable Travel Options

DERTOUR Group joins REWE Group and leads tourism. It launches the “engage – people & planet” label. This label marks travel that is sustainable. It helps consumers choose green trips. DERTOUR, ITS, and Meiers Weltreisen now show travel that meets clear standards.


What is the “engage – people & planet” Label?

The label shows two symbols. The dark green leaf has a heart shape. It marks hotels that meet rules set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. The light green leaf, outlined like a heart, marks tours checked by DERTOUR standards. These excursions may not have outside certification. About 1,800 hotels now use the engage label. Some appear on booking sites that use the Fairweg sustainability database.

• DERTOUR aims for 25% of its hotels to get GSTC certification by 2025.
• The label joins the group’s Conscious Travelling website. This site gives tips on green travel and education.
